A Welcome Speech In Bafut
NAME OF ASSOCIATION
The Association shall be called “Union of Bafut Women Maryland – USA” (UBA MARYLAND – USA) located in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.
PREAMBLE
UBA unites women who are indigents of Bafut and those that are married to husbands from Bafut as well as women from other villages in the Northwest who identify with the Bafut culture. The association is nonprofit and non- political in nature in which women meet to interact, discuss issues that affect the community, provide assistance to the needy while supporting one another conscious of the fact that:
- Women empowerment lies in unity
- Culture is fast eroding from the minds of our youth.
- Developing the village of Bafut and its environs, improving living conditions of the under privileged, youths, widows and orphans by providing informational workshops that will bring a positive change.
OUR PLEDGE
UBA shall be governed by its constitutions and hereby pledges to respect the laws of the United States of America.
OUR MISSION
Our focus is on reaching the most vulnerable youths, widows, and orphans to provide them with opportunities, dignity, and hope so they can possess the tools for a positive change in themselves, their families, and their communities.
OUR VISION
To promote the well being of the underprivileged both here in the USA and in Bafut and its environs in the Northwest region of Cameroon especially young women and children.
Promoting the right and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do.

- We are committed to work with marginalized communities, improve their lives, alleviate their suffering and develop a vision for change that will make a meaningful difference in their lives.
- We consider partnership as one of our key organizing principle, we are, therefore, committed to developing, maintaining and nurturing partnerships, including alliance and linkages- with institutions and individuals who identify our vision and mission.
